I’ve had a super tough mental health day.

There isn’t really a super big rhyme or reason. I’ve done enough introspection and pattern recognition within myself where I can see what could have influenced it, etc. But some days are just plain tough, simply put. And sometimes I forget that I am also a human doing the best she can with a diagnosis of OCD that doesn’t define me by any means, but a debilitating experience nonetheless (when it is in full blown active mode) that can just be plain exhausting sometimes.

Sometimes I feel like I’ve done the meditation, the nutritious eating, facing the fears head on, exercising, praying, therapy & healing modalities galore, having beautiful friends and family to rely on and STILL my brain can feel like it is lit on fire.

The beauty of it all is that I know I will make it through (because I have a gajillion times), that I have the most self-compassion and awareness I’ve ever had surrounding this, that experiencing the intensity of intrusive thoughts have made me a really bomb ass spaceholder with genuine lived insight, AND sometimes it totally blows a big one lol.

And in the same breath, it has cultivated a level of realness, resiliency, spiritual practice and depth, self-honesty & intimacy that I know wouldn’t have been possible without having to navigate this experience for the past decade.

I think there can be a false message that therapists, healers, and the like “have it all figured out” or can be unphased by the human condition. If anything, a healer to me, is someone who has been forged by the fire (and still does at times) and can compassionately hold a hand through the human condition with another. Who has found tips, tools, and practices that lighten the burden of it all. And can sit with someone deep in their pain because they know what it is like with humor, humanness & heart.

It can be absolutely bonkers being in a body sometimes, AND it can be so damn beautiful to traverse the wildness of the human condition side by side. Don’t let the shininess behind the screens fool ya. Remember you are loved, and your humanness and imperfections are normal & bummer days are just as important as the shiny ones. 💕

It can be so easy for us to over-identify with our neuroses, our anxieties, our mental health diagnoses. This is a gentle reminder from my heart to yours to remember that we are way more than these fleeting states within. Our spirit is way more vast, profound, steady & unbelievably benevolent in comparison to these neurotic states! Sometimes it can be really tricky to sift out who you really are versus what is an emotional state that feels all consuming. One way to pattern interrupt in those moments is accessing even a sliver of self-compassion. The more you go underneath the patterns of the mind, the more you touch into a space within you that is unimpeded by the fluctuations of thoughts and emotions. A space that is still, rooted in love, and that is the deeper foundational energy of who we are as human beings. If your thoughts and emotional states come and go, what is the space within you that never leaves? ✨🤍✨

This is the paradox of the OCD experience and navigating intrusive thoughts & mental compulsions. I am so proud of the level of healing I have experienced, but definitely have days where I’m completely lost in the OCD sauce & get completely hooked (helllloo being a human)! Ultimately we aren’t our thoughts, but just like we can get stuck in a physical condition, the same can happen with our brain patterns & I just want to offer up a big ooey gooey hug and profound love for anyone who is experiencing this flavor of suffering. The importance of having safe, curious, non-judgmental spaces to talk about s*x!

We don’t really have spaces outside of the medical system or porn to really express or explore the depths and unique expression of your own sensual nature. One of the biggest exhales and shame slayers that I have found is actually being around s*x-positive individuals who have education, mindfulness, love & reverence surrounding our eroticism. The conditioning runs very deep, and even today I was battling old sexual shame that came to the forefront! We have been deeply indoctrinated to believe that the very energy that gives us life should be shamed, looked at as unholy, or disgusting, or has to be this performative act that is informed by the porn industry. I joke around that I’m a vanilla s*xuality coach because I’m not out here experiencing orgies or wild play parties (listen, if that’s your jam, hell to the yeah 😏), but I’m more so curious about what it would look like to return love, joy, beauty, and profound intention back into our sensual nature. To bring the heart back into Eros! That everyone’s expression is going to take many different forms and what would it look like to tap into YOUR organic sensual essence and let that inform the way you move in this world? ❤️‍🔥

HOW I WENT FROM NEUROTIC TO EROTIC: My story of healing severe OCD triggered by sexual assault with the path of Tantra

Hello lovely people! This is the most vulnerable share I have posted, but it is absolutely the heartbeat to how and why I got into the work of Tantra, and in turn healing my relationship to my sensual nature. To make sure you feel ready to embark on the journey of this video (lol) I touch on themes regarding severe OCD/mental health, sexual assault, and suicidal ideation. HOWEVER, the beauty and power of radical healing allows for an air of lightness, play, humor & so much love to permeate through the whole video! The level of dedication and commitment I have made to my internal healing is my biggest accomplishment in this lifetime, and it is an absolute honor to serve other women to remember, reclaim and RELISH in their sensual/sexual expression outside of pain, trauma, and societal conditioning. One of the most confronting aspects of the Tantric Path, is having so much self-awareness and knowing that you are going to constantly see the ways in which you don’t fully love yourself, and the ways in which you block or limit love from fully permeating your life.

You will be shown where you still are hooked into your patterns of self-protection, of self-righteousness, of superiority or inferiority complexes so you don’t have to engage fully in the vulnerability of the moment. You will be asked to lay your defenses down, and allow yourself to be broken open again and again and again, until you are rubbing shoulders with Truth and Love for real, for real.

You will be shown where you are taking yourself too seriously and in the same breath where you aren’t holding enough reverence for how truly immaculate you are as a being. It is wrought with paradox! And love! And profundity! And feeling the depths of allll the human experience! It will stretch you to the edges of your internal existence and give you the option to pull back and hide from yourself (kinda sorta because you can already see through it), or you continue to surrender who you thought you were, these identities we hold so dear to us that gives us this false sense of safety, and actually give yourself to a power that knows more than the “little you”.

It will ask you to totally embrace your humanness. Your dark thoughts, messy interactions, deep fears you wouldn’t dare tell a soul, your kinks, your triumphs, the way your body creaks and makes love, or the way that tears pool from your eyes when you can’t hold back how much you love your baby girl all while knowing that this moment is forever fleeting and temporary. It will ask you to embrace your silly little quirks, your pettiness, your insecurities, your magnificence, your joys, your sorrows. They all have a seat at the table in this path. It is the path of aliveness, and each human experience can be offered up to the fire of Love for deeper liberation, deeper truth, and deeper intimacy with this gift that is being alive! Don’t let it pass you by, my love, remember the miracle while we still have it. 😘

How does it feel when you’re truly embodying your inner woman?

In modern society we no longer hold the same rites of passage & initiations that bring us to different levels of internal maturation. From childhood, to adolescence, to young adulthood, to full adulthood, and to elderhood.

We can all look around and see so many adults who are just little kids trapped in grown-up bodies. If it wasn’t for the genuine reclamation of my s*xuality, healing and loving my inner child, learning how to adore and feel safe in my body, I wouldn’t actually feel like an embodied woman. And it’s a very powerful and honest place to be.
•
I feel most in my womanhood when I’m in tune with my s*xual nature, caring for community, having a daily practice that taps me into my spiritual nature, and when I’m living for something that is bigger than “me”. With a world that is ever intensifying, it’s a necessity for us to mature & step into our medicine and gifts so we can bring more genuine healing to this planet. 🤍

Also, big side note: being an embodied adult doesn’t mean you lose your playfulness, awe or childlike nature! You still hold these beautiful qualities, but with the understanding that you are now a steward of the next generation and it’s up to you to get in right relationship with Self so you can continue to create ripples of goodness & harmony in this world.

As one of my teachers @risivaso shares, “if there isn’t meditation involved, then it isn’t Tantra.” The heartbeat of Tantra is actually bringing consciousness, love, reverence and meditation to all aspects of life which is not subject to, but includes s*xual expression. Literally bringing the Divine back into the body and learning how to unify the energies within us is foundation to this path (i.e., masculine & feminine-the feminine principle is also deeply revered which I LOVE). ❤️‍🔥

Tantra is a reorientation of viewing the human experience from the way we eat, experience our day-to-day tasks, the way we make love, experience and alchemize internal darkness, the way we are present with a loved one during an especially challenging moment, etc. as an opportunity to view and fully experience & embody those moments from a lens of higher wisdom and heart.

One of my deepest loves is shifting the perspective of what s*xual energy really is, and bringing love, heart & aliveness back into the expression that is Eros. There are many paths of Tantra that don’t uplift s*xuality as its main aspect of practice and it’s important to clarify that here. For me specifically bringing the principles of Tantric wisdom to my Eros has felt like a true revolution because it’s viewed from the aspect of Love. Not overly repressed, not overly suppressed, but a creation of right relationship to my s*xual/sensual nature that is genuinely true to me.

I have such utter awe at 22 year-old Molly who went to Bali the first time and was in the throes of bad mental health and still solo-traveled & did the damn thing.

I have remembered my softness and hold the values of silliness, kindness & integrity as my top priorities. I am excited to devote myself to the Tantric path even deeper when I return home and to snuggle all my beautiful pals who loved and supported me from afar! 🥲

These are some things I’ve been reflecting on lately about living and normalizing living in a culture of hyper stimulation. Our brains were never meant to consume this amount of information and I believe, in turn, has lended us towards being more machine like and less human. It’s easier to stay numb, disconnect, disassociate when you’re in constant consumption mode. You deserve slowness. You deserve rest. You deserve pockets of stillness. You deserve moments of daily contemplation. You deserve to simply be, because guess what baby, we are HUMAN. 🤍 let’s not be so over-consumed with the next technological dopamine hit that we don’t take a moment to connect to one another in a very real way. You are not crazy if you feel the negative repercussions of living in a culture that normalizes profound hyper stimulation.

I have encountered people thinking I was fake, being jealous, being rude, trying to undercut me to feel better about themselves in their victimhood, alll the things. But I no longer am here to dim the truth of my radiance. We need people embodied in their light, in their essence, and being their expression of their most joyful, bountiful & loving selves!

I am in my radiance AND I experience days of crippling anxiety.
I am in my radiance AND it can be difficult to feel confident and get out of bed sometimes.
I am in my radiance AND there will be times where I wonder if I will ever stop getting hooked into the OCD thought loops that make me feel the size of a pea.

Being radiant is leaning on the faith that you are bigger than the thoughts, emotions, fears, and insecurities and that you have a spaciousness within you that can hold it all-and there your true light shines.

Being Liberated From “The People Pleaser”

I never thought there would be a day where I wouldn’t live in a way where I wasn’t constantly worried about what other people thought about me. Where I wasn’t constantly on guard, shape-shifting energy, being the “nice/good girl”, manipulating people’s perceptions of me because I felt so insecure and disconnected from my authentic voice and felt that I was only worthy of friendship or relationship if I was constantly over-extending myself past my limits to care for others.
•
I am liberated from this false identity and it feels DAMN good. It took years of learning what boundaries were, taking the time to explore what I really loved to do outside of anyone else, people being pissed at me because I’m no longer appeasing their false perception of me, unlearning deep patriarchal conditioning that women are only valuable if they are nice and demure, and continuing to sit in the fire of uncomfortability as I continued to watch these old aspects of me die off for an expression that is way more true to come forth. AND I simultaneously honor my nervous system, and younger version of me that was doing the best they could to belong and be loved. The survival adaptation served me so well when I didn’t have the tools or awareness that I do now. I have deep reverence, love and respect for that version of me. 🤍

The world needs your unique expression or you wouldn’t be you. I’m not for everyone and that is more than okay. But as my teacher @maryamhasnaa says, the people who I’m for, I’m for in a major way. Love you all. May you have the courage to truly be you in this lifetime. ☺️❤️‍🔥

We have the power to reprogram our brain and nervous systems to a reality that is more congruent with who we really are. HOWEVER. Your brain is so smart, so evolutionary, that it will continue to keep you stuck in a space of homeostasis and resist new patternings even if these habits or ways of thinking will bring about a healthier and truer state of being.
•
This is why it is absolutely paramount to learn how to sit in the discomfort to move beyond the initial brain resistance and see for yourself what is actually true. (Disclaimer: there are ways to do so that takes into account trauma in the body so that you don’t re-trigger PTSD, it is important to use this information with nuance and view it from a case by case lens).
•
You have to learn to not be pulled by every craving, urge, grab of quick pleasure, and learn to lean into the edge and discomfort of the unknown. How much do you really want liberation? How addicted are you to the identity and comfort of your suffering?

On the reality of grief
•
These pictures were literally taken within an hour of one another. 😅🤣 The first picture I was sobbing in my bed for a couple of hours not having the energy to move, and then after chatting with a dear friend of mine who assured me that this is a natural response & it makes sense that I am feeling this way (a shocking heartbreak, a car accident that left my car totaled & was met with a broken wrist and surgery all within the span of less than 3 months, balancing pain meds and PT practices every day at some point every hour…yikes lol), I finally surrendered and had the energy to move. I now find myself dressed for the day having a coffee at one of my favorite little shops. 🤍

The reality of healing is that it is messy and gut-wrenching at times. People see the shine, the glow, the fruits of one’s labor when it comes to healing, but we often don’t showcase the realness of what it takes to get there. Days where crying happens sporadically, where it is difficult to get out of bed, where the tiny wins and next breath is what gets you through, where you are just holding out for your next session with your therapist, healer, or coach.
I want to normalize being human, feeling emotions and continuing to move forward, but with an authenticity of respecting the process of navigating such complex emotions such as grief & loss.

In the span of these 3 months I’ve also had the absolute pleasure of stepping into my business in a more profound way, spending so much quality time with my community, reading amazing books, meditating daily, spending time with nature, connecting with Spirit in a deeper way. There has been an utter beauty in it all!

On the reality of grief

These pictures were literally taken within an hour of one another. 😅🤣 The first picture I was sobbing in my bed for a couple of hours not having the energy to move, and then after chatting with a dear friend of mine who assured me that this is a natural response & it makes sense that I am feeling this way (a shocking heartbreak, a car accident that left my car totaled & was met with a broken wrist and surgery all within the span of less than 3 months, balancing pain meds and PT practices every day at some point every hour…yikes lol), I finally surrendered and had the energy to move. I now find myself dressed for the day having a coffee at one of my favorite little shops. 🤍
